Francis Paul Wilson is an author, born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He writes novels and short stories primarily in the science fiction and horror genres. His debut novel was Healer (1976). Wilson is also a part-time practicing family physician. He made his first sales in 1970 to Analog and continued to write science fiction throughout the seventies. In 1981 he ventured into the horror genre with the international bestseller, The Keep, and helped define the field throughout the rest of the decade. Short stories

F Paul Wilson recommends

Neverland (1991)
Douglas Clegg
"This is a powerful and thrilling tale, Douglas Clegg’s best novel yet. The novel builds in whispers and ends in a scream. You will never forget Neverland."

Strangewood (1999)
Christopher Golden
"Strangewood is what Oz might have been if Frank L. Baum had grown up on a steady diet of Stephen King...a daring and thoroughly engrossing blend of wonder and adventure, terror and tenderness."

Mr. Monster (2010)
(John Cleaver, book 2)
Dan Wells
"Dan Wells has the gift. His teenage protagonist is as chilling as he is endearing. More John Wayne Cleaver, please."

The Severed Streets (2014)
(Shadow Police, book 2)
Paul Cornell
"Puts the urban back in urban fantasy.A gritty, inventive, terrifying, and endlessly fascinating tale of four damaged coppers trying to track down the inespicable and unspeakable."

The Cure (2015)
JG Faherty
"I've known JG Faherty since he was an up-and-comer. Now he's arrived. Start reading him now-as in TODAY-so you won't have time to play catch-up later."

The Forgotten Girl (2017)
Rio Youers
"The Forgotten Girl has everything going for it. Rio Youers has seasoned an original plot with engaging, unpredictable characters, and a totally badass villain, concocting a heady thrill-fest that will keep you turning pages into the wee hours."

Slaves of the Switchboard of Doom (2017)
(Retropolis, book 1)
Bradley W Schenck
"You might think (as I did at first) that this is not your kind of SF, but it is. Slaves of the Switchboard of Doom is the novel you've been waiting for -- you just didn't know it. Not only can Bradley Schenck write (his arch, blithe tone hides a skillfully constructed plot), he's an amazing artist. I love the setting, the characters, the sly references. This novel gave me a happy buzz. Remember when SF used to be upbeat and fun? Well, the fun is back and it's right here."
